Dr. Jane Morris is retiring!

With bittersweet emotions, the doctors and staff at Laketown Animal Hospital announce the retirement of Dr. Jane Morris. Her last day seeing patients will be December 27, 2019, and that date is approaching much too fast for our liking! We will miss Dr. Morris tremendously here at Laketown. We will especially miss her energy, her sense of humor and ability to laugh at herself, her care and concern for her patients, clients and everyone on the staff, and certainly her skills as a veterinarian.

Dr. Morris has been in practice for 34 years, the last 19 of which have been here at Laketown. She is wonderfully kind and compassionate, taking a personal interest not only in the pets she treats, but in the owners who trust her to care for their pets. That compassion is driven by a fierce desire to figure out the "what and the "why" in order to provide the best possible care and treatment for each animal she sees.

In addition to being an excellent veterinarian, Dr. Morris is also a great colleague and co-worker, offering support and encouragement to everyone around her. She has been, and continues to be, an excellent mentor to the other veterinarians she works with, whether they are right out of school or a couple decades into their own careers.

We are thrilled for Dr. Morris as she moves on to her next great adventure. We wish her all the best and congratulate her on the conclusion of an amazing career!

So, what is next for you, the client? While no one can replace Dr. Morris, your pets can continue to receive the excellent care you have come to expect from Laketown with one of our other 5 (soon to be 6!) veterinarians on staff. To help you with this transition of care, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our other veterinarians to help you find the doctor that best meets the needs of you and your pet.

-Sincerely, the doctors and staff at Laketown Animal Hospital

A note from Dr. Morris:

"After 34 years as a veterinarian, I have decided to hang up my stethoscope and begin the next phase of my life. My last day at Laketown Animal Hospital, and as practicing veterinarian, will be December 27, 2019.

I genuinely appreciate the trust you, my clients, have placed in me to take care of your pets. It has been an incredible journey and an honor to have shared it with all of you, in both happy and sad times.

I will miss seeing many of you on a regular basis, and I will miss working with the great staff at Laketown, but I am truly excited about this next chapter in my life. I plan to continue creating jewelry to sell locally and at my sister's shop in Colorado. I am also looking forward to spending more time with my husband and hopefully doing some traveling while we are still young.

Although I am stepping away from veterinary medicine, I encourage you to continue seeking care for your pets at Laketown with one of the other fantastic doctors, as they share my same passion for taking the best care of you and your pets.

I have had a wonderful career as a veterinarian and I am retiring with many mixed emotions. Thank you for allowing me to care for your pets over the last 34 years." -Dr. Jane Morris
